Hereward Community Rail Partnership installs new map at Manea Railway Station

A new village map has been installed at Manea Railway Station to welcome visitors and encourage them to step out and explore the local community.

The illustrated map shows passengers the way to various places of interest in the village including St Nicholas Church, the Rose & Crown pub, Manea School of Gardening, Manea Pit, local café, Café No.29, the Royal British Legion, and the skate park and playing field, amongst other things.

The map was created by Fenland District Council, with support and funding from the Hereward Community Rail Partnership, which champions improvements to the Hereward Line between Peterborough and Ely and its stations at March, Manea and Whittlesey, and engages communities to help them get the most out of their railway.

Station owners Greater Anglia fully supported the map installation, and the lectern which displays the map was donated by Manea Parish Council.
