Join our Hereward Community Rail Partnership Team!

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Fenland District Council's Transport Team for a Hereward Community Rail Partnership (CRP) Officer to lead on marketing and projects.
If you are able to use your own initiative and want to work on a fast paced innovative project supporting the transport work of the Hereward CRP Team then this position could be ideal. In this role you will be responsible for the day to day development of marketing the Hereward Community Rail Partnership and our local railway services including our stations. You will also be responsible for delivering a number of Hereward CRP funded projects and developing marketing material, aimed at encouraging greater use of the railway.

Funding is available to support ongoing work for the Hereward Community Rail Partnership, linked to monies secured through four of the train operating companies. You will be implementing the CRP marketing and tourism strategy and the CRP action plan. This will involve a range of approaches locally and more widely including learning from other CRPs. You will be encouraging people to give their views and comments (including non-railway users) so that we can address known issues. Promoting rail travel a key element of every CRP and such an approach needs to be an essential element of our strategy to ensure greater use of the railway. This project will support the delivery of FDC Sustainable Transport Policy through the Economic Growth and Assets (Transport) Team.

If you have marketing and project delivery experience including working with a range of organisations, stakeholders, and the public and have excellent spoken/written communication skills this position could be for you. Experience of transport planning and transport services is not essential for this post but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn about transport will be necessary.

For an informal discussion, please contact Belinda Pedler, Senior Transport Officer on 07738 260787 or bpedler@fenland.gov.uk
