• Beer lovers can now enjoy a pub crawl with a difference in Herrfordshire with the launch of a new Rail Ale Trail. The New River Line Community Rail Partnership (CRP) has teamed up with Greater Anglia, the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and pubs near to five rail stations to create a trail that is easily accessible by train.
Visitors can leave the car at home and sample a range of real ales from 18 CAMRA-recommended pubs along the route of the Hertford East – Broxbourne ‘New River’ Line. New Ale Trail guides have been produced by the partnership which are available from local pubs, tourist information points and other local outlets as well as at www.newriverline.org. Perfect for a summer’s day out, visitors to the trail can leave the car behind, enjoy a glass of real ale and travel safely by train.”
