MORNING
Hop on a direct CrossCountry train service from the Hereward Line to Stamford.
10 MINUTE WALK
From the station take the short 10-minute walk into the town and enjoy this beautiful stone town with its five churches, over 600 listed buildings and pretty streets offering an array of independent and high street retailers. The bustling market takes place every Friday and Saturday.
LUNCH
You’ll be spoilt for choice of where to have lunch in Stamford town – there’s a great range of choice and something for every taste, from pizzas to fine dining and everything in between!
AFTERNOON
BURGHLEY HOUSE
Take the lovely off-road walk from the town centre passing over the town bridge and then turn onto Water Street and follow the route towards the grounds. This leisurely route takes around half an hour.

Explore the house and grounds at your leisure and be sure to take some refreshment in one of the on-site café’s, or indulge in a delicious ice cream and some retail therapy at one of the estate shops (located in the courtyard and before you enter the gardens), before you leave and head back to the station.
