East Midlands Railway (EMR) has launched their new annual ‘Build Back Better Competition’, giving passengers the opportunity to share their ideas to create happier journeys for people in 2021.
EMR are asking passengers to share their creative ideas over a variety of themes, the first one being ‘wellbeing’. In return, the winner of the competition will see their idea become a reality and win £5,000.
Will Rogers, Managing Director for EMR said: “We are always looking to improve our passenger’s wellbeing in our stations and on-board our trains, now more than ever.
“Of course, at the moment, people are limited to only making essential journeys, but we know many of our passengers will have creative ideas to improve their train journeys for when life returns to normal.
“We are busy focusing on building back better in readiness to welcome back our passengers to their daily commute or for leisure purposes in the future.
“We welcome all ideas; no idea is too small! We can’t wait to see what creative ideas you have!”
How to enter
• Submit your entry on the website https://www.eastmidlandsrailway.co.uk/innovation
• Give an overview of the idea, a maximum of 1000 words. Explain the idea, how it will work and why you think it will improve passenger wellbeing
• Get out the pencil crayons if you’d like – you can upload one drawing
• Enter before midnight on February 14th, 2021
All entries will then be judged by a panel of EMR staff who will decide the winner, who’s idea will get to become a reality.
Can’t think of an idea to improve passenger wellbeing? Don’t worry, there will be another ‘Build Back Better’ Competition coming in March 2021. The theme for this will be station environment and sustainability. More details to follow in the coming weeks.
