Passengers asked to share opinions on March station upgrade

Passengers are being asked to share their views on the newly redeveloped March Railway Station and how facilities can be further improved in future.

Fenland District Council has launched a survey to gather opinions on the station’s modernised Platform 1 building and extended car park and find out how it can be made even better for passengers going forward.

The redevelopment, carried out over the last two years by station owners Greater Anglia, include a new open-plan ticket hall and waiting area, accessible modern toilet facilities and retail outlets, and a bigger, upgraded car park.

The works were delivered through Fenland District Council’s Railway Station Masterplans project, with a £9.5million package of funding from the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority and support from Greater Anglia.

Cllr Chris Seaton, Fenland District Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport and Chairman of the Fenland Stations Regeneration Project Board, said: “A considerable amount of local input was behind the upgrades at March station, which have not only improved facilities and customer experience but also maintained the heritage feel of the station.

“We’d now like to see what passengers think to the improvements and capture their views on future needs and aspirations for the station. Feedback is essential to our work and our ability to deliver more in the future so I would urge as many people as possible to have their say.”
