Whittlesea

Whittlesea Railway Station serves the town of Whittlesey and is the first Fenland station along the Hereward Line.
It is located 5.5 miles from Peterborough and has direct services to Ely, Cambridge, Ipswich, Birmingham, and Stansted Airport.

Whittlesea Station is an unmanned station managed by Greater Anglia. It consists of two staggered platforms connected by step free access via the B1093 Station Road level crossing.
Facilities include: ticket machines at the entrance to Platform 2 and also on Platform 1 (right by the waiting shelter); brand new waiting shelters on each platform; and cycling parking on the entrance to Platform 2.

There are currently no official car parking spaces at Whittlesea Station, although cars are permitted to park along the access road to Platform 2.
There are plans to create a car park and bus interchange on Network Rail land adjacent to the station.

We encourage and support adopters

Station adopters are people that act as the eyes and ears for the train operating company, usually at unstaffed stations. Adopters agree a simple programme of works every year. This includes making sure the station is clean and tidy, checking that information is up to date and managing areas that have become overgrown.

Greater Anglia is a member of our Hereward Community Rail Partnership and is keen to encourage and support adopters at their stations.

If you are interested in volunteering at Whittlesea railway station please contact Greater Anglia.
